From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Hi,

I'm having a problem with Cider (app for Apple Music). It won't start anymore. The Cider logo appears, but then I get an error "cider is not responding, reload the app?". Obviously I've tried to start it again but it still isn't working.

Can anybody help me? Thanks!

Run it via the terminal, this will usually give you some more detailed error messages to work with. After doing that, post them here and we can help better.

Thank you! I deleted Cider, then re-installed it, but it didn't help. This is what I got (inc. the Cider is not responding, reload the app).

It looks like Cider is released as a Flatpak or AppImage. I'm not super familiar with building these/troubleshooting, but the error messages you are getting look like a poorly packaged app (Failed to load module “xapp-gtk3-module”).

Alright. I had Cider installed from the Mint ”app store” (can’t remember the correct name right now) and it worked fine before. I had some updates today, not sure if something broke down because of them. Luckily Apple music seems to be ok via browser after a bit of setting up.

It is available as a .deb on itch.io, if you wanted to try a native package
