A gaming community free from the hype and oversaturation of current releases, catering to gamers who wait at least 12 months after release to play a game. Whether it's price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don't meet the system requirements, or just haven't had the time to keep up with the latest releases.

I played a lot of 1942 on the NES as a kid but never 1943.
As for Battlefield I wouldn't bother anymore. The franchise peaked with BF3 and everything else since is just awful.
That's just like you're opinion man. I've had heaps of fun with BF 3, 4, 5, & 2042. They've all still got online communities. 3/4/5 all have a good campaign and decent graphics for games that are usually on sale for a few bucks. 2042 is still getting event pass updates with skins, weapons and recently a new map.
Honestly the difference between 1942 and 1943 on NES is enormous. 1942 was okay, but 1943 was so much better in every way, especially sound (the audio in 1942 is awful).
If you enjoyed 1942, I recommend loading 1943 on an emulator for a spin.
