Poland’s opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party has condemned a court ruling overturning the granting of a terrestrial broadcasting licence to two conservative TV news stations. Its leader, Jarosław Kaczyński, says that the decision is further proof of how the government is “destroying democracy”.
However, he provided no evidence of government influence on the court’s decision. The ruling is also almost certain to be appealed, meaning the case could drag on for years, during which time the stations can continue using the licences they were granted.
It was okay to call Kaczynski Polish Orban while he was giving away pretty much every single Soviet weapon we had to Ukraine. This guy is not pro-Russia, sorry.
Current restoration of democratic institutions is dubious at best for reasons to many too list. I’ll ask a simple question - why didn’t we adhere to EU court ruling saying Poland should be recognising same sex unions from other EU members? Why didn’t ministry of health create prescription-mats for psychiatrist opinions that would allow free access to abortion without changing any laws? I thought democracy won but things don’t get through the parliament unless it’s about capturing TV or other state institutions.
Didn’t current parliament pass resolution that would allow Netanyahu to come to Auschwitz liberation anniversary? We didn’t quit ICC but not persecuting is about the same.
All of this is happening while all of those guys enrich themselves and laugh at us fighting about unimportant stuff.
I'm not comparing him to Kaczynski but to Orban, but I agree with you that all of those guys enrich themselves and laugh at us fighting about unimportant stuff.
