Still need to treat with something like chlorine, bromine, or UV afterwords to prevent viruses and such.
RO systems filter out viruses. Googling confirms this.
Well they must be different membranes than we used on the ships, because we had a bromine injection unit before the tanks.
If it's RO then it's RO. If it sits there is always a chance of contamination, and if this is a navy ship there is a risk reward ratio.
