It's because the Republicans usually have the police either directly on their side, or at least sympathetic to them.

Look at the police response across the country to BLM protests a few years ago.

And it's not like left wingers in the country don't do extreme action. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capitol_Hill_Occupied_Protest

I did say democrats, not far left. And I did compare them to a far right group, not the reasonable non GOP Republicans
