No. You acted as though u had the right to tell me what to do and that i was a bad for how i was born. U judged me by the colour of my skin not the quality if my charecter, and i dont like that.
If you're not a queer person of color this comment is so insanely ironic.
Why must i be a queer person of colour? Sounds like ur saying im not allowed to think or say this without being a queer person of colour. Did u just prove my point?
No you troglodyte, I'm saying you're proving theirs.
So now ur calling me a troglodyte. Why? In an attempt to bully me into complying?
No, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt and assumed you were living under a rock since the alternative is a bit embarrassing.
Can u stop insulting me and enguage with my ideas in good faith?
You mean to tell me you're engaging in good faith and not just rage bait? You used the term "woke ideology" completely earnestly?
Ok what should i call it?
I'll bite. "Woke ideology" is polarizing, if not straight hostile terminology. There's a negative connotation so you'll immediately come across as in opposition to certain groups of people. Aside from that you claim that people judge you based on the color of your skin (race) and how you were born (race and/or gender or sexuality). Saying something like that just feels like a protest to people wanting to be accepted for who they are. You come across as though that somehow offends or inconveniences you, a probably straight, probably white, probably male person.
It's similar to responding to "black lives matter" with "all lives matter". BLM isn't about saying people of color are more important, just that they're equally important. Saying all lives matter in response to that is just a protest to their protest to stir shit up.
Hope that explained why you're getting negative responses. If you weren't actually trolling (which I still doubt but whatever) then I apologize. More than happy to write it out in case it helps someone sympathize with the people they're antagonizing for whatever reason.
Full disclosure, I'm a straight white male, I've just had people around me personally affected so this shit bothers me. It's not that hard to just live and let live with a little empathy.
Where does the negative connotation vome from u think? The ideology itself? The people pushing the ideology?
No, I'm quoting Martin Luther King.
My race, sexuality, and sex have absolutly nothing to do with my opinions or beliefs. Thats literally what im trying to say.
Well obviously all people are equally important thats why i dont support race, sexuality, and sex based anything.
Im not bothered by negative responces. Nor did i ask for an explanation of why im getting them.
What the fuck does being a straight white male have to do with anything? Have ur beliefs and opinions regardless and be judged on the quality of ur charecter not the colour of ur skin.
Also please answer my godamn question. If i cant say "woke ideology" how would u like me to refer to said concept? Or should I just not mention it at all?
Sorry you took our opposition to colonialism and white supremacy personally. Maybe you should think about why. That's clearly not the intention.
Oh okay, so trannies are your thing... whatever, colonialism and white supremacy were examples. You can say whatever you want, dude, and you clearly have on any number of occasions. Don't mistake us calling you out for your bullshit for suppression of your free speech. As a self-proclaimed retard, I'm guessing you probably don't fully understand the issues you're talking about. I'd be more likely to call you ignorant, which is fine, because ignorance can be cured.
This is an example to good to be true. My comment was deleted but its fine for you to say "trannies" and "retard". I couldnt prove my point any better if i tried.
Well, I was making fun of your speech patterns but I would understand if the mods want to delete my comment. I think there's at least some understanding of intent here on lemmy. You clearly either don't understand gender dysphoria and are proud of your ignorance, or you are just legitimately transphobic. Or maybe a little bit of both. Regardless, getting moderated on an internet forum is not a violation of your free speech either. You said it, I responded to it. We're having a conversation. Free speech. You don't get to yell the n word in the lobby of a hotel either.
Free speach is a philosophical concept. Its not like freedom wasnt invented until the Americans decided to write the constitution.
Im not gonna have this discussion rn cos frankly im sick of having it. But that being said many (socially progressive) nations have done independent studies (for the purpose of their socialised medicine) on the effectivness of said various treatments and found no statisticly significant improvement in health outcomes (self harm, suicide, depression etc).
Sick of it, or just sick of being not very good at it?
Sick of presenting peer reviewed journals just for people to ignore them or call them debunked while failing to provide a single source to back their claim.
So is freedom of association, and there is a give and take between the two, and other rights for that matter.
You and me both.
I've seen the one from Finland? Sweden? in the 80s trotted out over and over again as if science doesn't progress. More recent studies show that gender affirming care is extremely effective in improving mental health outcomes. Here's just one on puberty blockers and hormones that says 60% less incidence of depression and 73% less incidence of suicidality: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35212746/.
If that's what you think equity looks like then I'd say any judgement of your character was likely spot on.
Whats wrong with my understanding of equallity? Please elaborate
Waste of time since your ability to read seems low. Equality ≠ equity
Ohh that wasnt a typo?
Ok then would u agree equallity = equal oppertunity And Equity = equall outcome
?
No. Reductively I'd say equity is a prerequisite for equal opportunity.
Well thats just illogical how would u define equity?
Equity comes out of the idea that people don't all have the same ability or means to do things. Equity is the leveling of the playing field so that no matter someone's level of intelligence, economic background, or any other efficiency/deficiency, everyone has the same opportunity to participate.
Equality gives staircases to everyone. In this case, not everyone can go up a floor. Equity builds ramps, lifts, or both. In this case everyone has an equal opportunity to go up a floor. You can't have equal opportunity without equity.
Say im really good at running up staircases should i not be rewarded for my staircase climbing prowess?
Should i be forces to stop climbing staircases to build an elevator for people who cant climb stairs?
Say im really good at climbing stairs but im lazy why would i bother climbing stairs to build an elevator for someone when i could simply wait till someone builds an elevator for me?
If u cant make it up a floor then thats unfortunate take it up with Charles darwin.
Point: missed
Not at all. I simply disagree.
All we can see here is the quality of your character. And guess what
Was i talking about u (as in u personaly) or u as in ur ideology and its advocates i interact with irl?
U u u ur.
Learn how to spell.
Ok boomer
Being older than 12 doesn't make someone a boomer.
Typing out the whole word doesnt make someone younger.
You're an idiot. Goodbye troll.
Does it look like i live under a bridge?
