The Rules

Posts must be:

  1. Links to news stories from...
  2. ...credible sources, with...
  3. ...their original headlines, that...
  4. ...would make people who see the headline think, “That has got to be a story from The Onion, America’s Finest News Source.”

Comments must abide by the server rules for Lemmy.world and generally abstain from trollish, bigoted, or otherwise disruptive behavior that makes this community less fun for everyone.

And that’s basically it!

thanks, I didn't run into a paywall on the article but good to have backups.

Btw, you linked to the lemm.ee post instead of https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/10/05/xi-and-mao-replace-jesus-and-mary-in-chinese-churches/ directly. You can edit your post and change the URL.

That's funny. The first time I opened the link I got a cutoff version of the article and it told me to make an account (which I then tried to remove with an ad blocker and the thing was called a paywal internally but the article stayed cut off), Now the second time, the message is gone.

So yeah, that may be just a random message shown on occasion.
