Are there any fields, where USB A surpasses USB C, or is C an absolute upgrade?

USB cables don't do anything by themselves. Each end needs to plug into something.

If the thing on one end isn't shaped like USB-C, then you won't be able to use USB-C for that end and will have to use something else.
