News ought to be a regulated word, if you put it on your show or paper or anything, anywhere, it means you can’t knowingly lie.
Politicians ought to be held to that same requirement, you aren’t allowed to knowingly lie.
You want your full first amendment rights (to lie and deceive) back? Stop being a politician or a “news” person.
They were, before Reagan intentionally fucked it all up in his crusade of feces
Really? What did he do? Is there somewhere i can read about this?
Leeja Miller does a good video on the subject.
Probably only something will happen when those lying are themselves blasted with so much lies that something needs to happen. It would require something like Russians propaganda machine to insinuate each republican politician had gay sex.
That seems more likely to just be actual news...
You are so right about this. A lot of times knowledge like that is provable. Why the fuck isn't this a thing?
Guess what? Just like 50% of all bad things about America, Reagan happened.
America used to have regulations on the media. Reagan abolished them in his attempt to make the entire world a dogshit corporate dystopian hellscape.
Oh right I forgot. I remember listening to an entire podcast about this, now that you mention it.
What was the podcast if you remember?
Pretty sure it was this one: https://99percentinvisible.org/episode/the-divided-dial/
Even if it wasn't, I'm sure it's a good episode and it is on the same topic. That podcast is great in general.
Thank you
