His happiness is still there. Vulcans still have emotions. They literally depend on a kind of stocicism, though, to not be overwhelmed by them. It's been implied a few times that a vulcan can literally die from experiencing their emotions full blast long enough. And I can kinda vibe with that, personally.

Yeah maybe I should have said "pushed him to return to being someone he physically no longer was."

The parallel between these episodes is really strong, and with nary a mention of Tuvix in season 6.
