Stop slandering Orangutans. That’s a candid shot of a fine gentleman.

Comparing them to MTG is a horrific action.

As an enjoyer of Magic: The Gathering, I think her sharing the same acronym is a horrific action.

Lol that's what my brain thinks every time, it always takes me a second to get past the "why is everyone so mad at magic??" (Aside from obscene prices, but that's why I just print fake cards for casual play)

[–] [email protected] 8 points 4 days ago

that is actually a howler monkey, orangutans are actually quiet.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

you're right. pretty much every primate species is more advanced than MTG. my bad

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

Apes = Primate species. MTG = Primitive species.

I think a distinct difference and no where near the same :o)

Isn't this a howler monkey? Point still stand though.

You’re probably right. I don’t know my monkeys very well.

Clearly, for the orangutan is an ape!🤦

/s, just teasing, although it IS an ape, just like my mother.

Like your mother and every other human in existence.

I always thought explaining the joke made it so much better.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

I find it's more effective if you really lean into it. Break the joke down into parts, then explain each part, then explain how it all works together. It's easily five times funnier.

Joking aside, this is exactly what I do when people make tasteless, offensive jokes or when I want someone to go away.

Whoa there, thanks but I'm married!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

the orangutan is one of the big human like face.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I interpreted it as "sarcastically pretending to be shocked by something that isn't really surprising", rather than a comparison to MTG

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 days ago

i like this interpretation. however, unfortunately the intent was "MTG is a monkey screaming at shit because it doesn't know how to do anything the way humans do things"
