He wants to be a wartime leader, so that he can suspend the usual political processes and keep himself in power

He also wants to command an army at war

He has delusions that he's a tough guy, and he thinks that playing with the lives of others will somehow make him more manly

He's an idiot on his best day, and his ego and stupidity will cost lives
