Now that Nintendo has shared total sales of Zelda for 2023, it can be officially declared that Hogwarts Legacy was the best selling game of 2023 worldwide.

I mean there's a lot of virtue signalling online but the reality is that it's clearly not a huge issue.

And I know that for some people it is extremely important, even their number one issue. I'm talking about the majority of the population.

I got banned from r/gamingcirclejerk for pointing out that boycotting Hogwarts Legacy isn't going to make a difference to Rowling's riches or opinions and that boycotting it is really only hurting the developers. That subreddit lost its collective mind that couple of months to the point of being cruel (not because of my ban, but because they were treating people horribly).

The perpetually online seemed way more upset about the whole thing than the general public.
