Rang up my mechanic place and they said they'd do the parking light on the opposite side for 20 so that's 50 all up excluding any extra time due to difficulties.

At this stage I'm hoping to sort it out in a week's time, hope I'm able to hold out till then.

That sounds pretty reasonable. I paid just over $42 to buy 2 headlight globes at Supercheap (and that was only special) recently.

Ah ok, are you replacing them yourself or getting someone else to do them?

I did it myself. Fortunately in my car it is a bit awkward to reach the globes but not too hard.

Oh that's fairly lucky, I wish I could have replaced them myself but it seems the price my mechanic was offering isn't too bad in the end, cheaper than if I went with Supercheap Auto and did it through their Fitting service.
