You've read far too deeply into this. My humor is dark sometimes, and I'm sorry if it made you uncomfortable. My joke was a play on the first and was meant to be so outlandish as to indicate that I was plainly joking
It is also a reference to "A Modest Proposal," a premier work in satire but also very deeply sardonic and dark.
