To add, this was my specific jab at my early Gen X mother who was made homeless by the 2008 housing crash. Instead of learning anything, she has elected to buy an island.

Like a well-adjusted adult.

If she went from being homeless to being able to afford buying an island, that seems pretty well adjusted to me....

No one buying shore property today is well adjusted.

There's plenty of islands available in lakes that won't be drowned by the rising ocean.
