People lie to get other people to fight for their benefit. Every war ever has been about that.
So you think that the war against the Nazis and the axis force was based on some nation's lies to their own benefit?
Probably, but how should I know?
The internets way open now, plenty of places to find out what's going on vs back then where you literally just had the local radio and 1 of 3 TV channels feeding you the info.
