I usually do not have a problem finding books online but this one is a bit tricky. It's done by the Death Panel podcast hosts so it is likely a smaller publisher, but I really want to check it out. I could not seem to find it in any libraries near me and I don't have much to spare to buy a copy.

Audiobookbay is a great site, and 80% of what I need is on there. Frustratingly, the 20% I'm missing is seemingly nowhere on the net.

Any comrades have an alternative I can look into? Or, hell, if anyone has the audio book for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: Firestorm, I'd probably shit.

Not posting links since I am on a phone but recently Nintendo of America filed a suit against Tropic Haze LLC, the LLC behind said emulators. Yesterday, Tropic Haze settled with Nintendo. They are to pay $2.4 million in damages and have to stop distributing (and maybe working on) Yuzu. Yuzu and Citra git repositories are gone from GitHub.

The tactic used by Nintendo was targeting the monetisation practices by the devs. They had a Patreon with paywalled early access builds. So the "emulation is legal" argument was irrelevant here. They also mention how Yuzu was used to play the leaked ROM of Tears of the Kingdom, the latest overhyped Zelda game.

It is a bit sad we won't be able to play overhyped Nintendo console exclusives anyone through Yuzu. There is still Ryujinx but from my experience it is more resource heavy. Also I don't know about its future. I tried finding if its devs commented on this news but have not come across anything like that so far.

Right now I'm looking forward to watching two movies: "The Boy and the Heron" and "Godzilla Minus One"

Neither is on streaming services or BluRay yet. Which means that good quality torrents (IMO at least web-rip) are not available yet.

Is there a good way of figuring out when a decent torrent is available? I don't mean setting up some service like sonarr/radarr because those seem overkill (though my mind on this can be changed with a persuasive argument). Rather maybe some website I can check? Thanks.

DDoS secrets responsible for hosting leaks such as EpikFail and BlueLeaks will stop its activities, I would like help from anyone who has space left so we can download everything and keep seeding.

I had to buy this album since I could not find it online. If possible please share it on torrent trackers or soulseek since it is a good album.

Not sure where to post this so I'll put it here.

I had some problems with data at first but at the end of the day It was well worth it ๐Ÿ‘

My phone's battery and performance are just as mediocre as before, but at least the phone is way more usable now and it supports apps that couldn't be installed before (such as Jerboa, my phone had Android 7.1.1 ๐Ÿ’€).

My phone cost me I think like 200โ‚ฌ back in 2018 and while the battery has certainly degraded, it was originally really big so I don't feel the need to get a new phone, especially now that I put Android 13 in it.

Over the years I've gotten pretty good at subverting intellectual property and copyright, so I thought I'd take a few minutes to lay out the places I normally go to find things.

---- General ----

Snahp.it - successor to r/MegaLinks. Has media of all times spanning from movies, tv shows, music, books, games, computer software, etc. Really good place to look for just about everything. Registration Required.

Mobilism - Site that has mostly ebooks, audiobooks, and cracked apps for android and ios (jailbreak only). Registration required to use search.

The Eye - An archive site filled with random shit. You can find a lot of stuff there. I've used it for linux games and roms.

---- Books ----

B-ok - Main site I go to for books.

Archive.org - Not piracy, but a really good source for older books.

Library Genesis - Search engine for books and research paper. Probably really useful but I don't use it very often.

IRC - Good place to check if b-ok doesn't have what you're looking for. Requires an irc client. Guide to setting one up: https://archive.is/j7By6

Audiobook Bay - place for audiobooks. Uses torrents and requires a registration.

Another thing that's kind of useful is the ability to remove DRM from ebooks that you've bought or that you've borrowed from archive.org. If you have any interest in that there's a plugin for Calibre (ebook management software) here and instructions: https://apprenticealf.wordpress.com/2012/09/10/drm-removal-tools-for-ebooks/

---- Research Papers ----

Sci-Hub - sci-hub isn't a search engine for research papers so you're going to have to use googlescholar or another search engine and then either copy the title into sci-hub. It normally recognizes titles, but DOIs are unique and preferable. DOIs have a format similar to this: 10.2105/ajph.76.6.661

SemanticScholar - Similar to GoogleScholar. It's the research search engine I use, it often has pdfs available for research papers.

Library Genesis - Search engine for research papers and books.

---- Tips ----

Given that none of these are torrents/rely on P2P there's less of a risk to not having a vpn because they only interactions that are had are from you to a server, however, it's always a good idea to have a vpn or to use tor browser.

When torrenting, using tor isn't enough. Torrent clients can still leak your ip address even if proxy settings are configured to go through tor. If you don't have/can't get a vpn, I recommend using Whonix. It's a little advanced.
