Love to see the Finns Party (nationalists) eat shit even in this minor election

”Of course this is a failure,” said [Finns] party leader Riikka Purra, who is also the Finance Minister. ”The numbers are terrible, and there's no explaining them away.”

Early votes are still incoming and may narrow this margin, but so far it's looking very good for Alex Brower, the DSA candidate for Milwaukee City Council

Elon Musk had an election lottery which payed people to vote for Brad Schimel. Brad Schimel lost to Susan Crawford.

Kind of going on an organization kick rn, and it’s actually pretty interesting on how back in the day, unions also served as community hubs similar to churches.

I want to go to a DSA meeting soon and see how I vibe, because as much as we may all lament the loss of community. I think it’s important for the left to learn how to build one, because the fascists most certainly have.

My Rep. is a total CHUD but I’m still going to write him. I’m not going to mention any ideology, but focus on the Mahmoud Khalil has not been accused of any actual crime, and the people who called for his detention (Shai Davidai etc.) are acting under the orders of a foreign power and are complete snowflakes.

Meet the new head of the DNC.

Watch the video on Ken Klip's page to just hear the sound bite, then look at fun excerpt from Salon which is still a lib rag:

Martin went on to say that it’s important for voters to feel like “we’re not taking money from the people that are working against them,” adding: “There are a number of billionaires in this country that have no interest in helping the working class in this country.” Asked who, specifically, he would not take money from, Martin said: “There’s too many to name.”

“There are a lot of good billionaires out there that have been with Democrats, who share our values, and we will take their money, but we’re not taking money from those bad billionaires,” Martin said.

Wikler responded to the question by saying: “We’re not going to take money from people who are actively union busting. We’re not going to take money from the people who funded Stop the Steal.” He added, “If they try to donate we’re going to send that money back.”

When the whole panel was asked whether any of the candidates would support a blanket ban on campaign contributions from tech executives — the same class of billionaires mentioned by former President Joe Biden in his farewell address as forming an American oligarchy — none of the candidates would commit.

Now for a fun excerpt from Da Hill which is a blue stenographer for power and doesn't question anything:

Martin said in an interview with The Hill last year that he saw a multi-faceted role for the DNC amid a second Trump administration — both resisting “the really extremes and excesses of the Trump administration” and defining the Democrats’ priorities.

“You have to give people a sense of who you are and who the party is, who we’re fighting for, and why and that means, you know, if we’re focused the whole time on just resisting Trump, we’re not giving people a sense of who we are and why they should support us,” Martin told The Hill.

Other Democrats agree that the party cannot be in resistance mode all the time.

“There’s a big difference between being the political opposition party and just pure resistance,” former Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.) told The Hill.

They're trying to sell "bipartisanship" as "standing for something" (pretending they "hear you, see you") by saying that they cannot be "da #resistance" but they have to be an "opposition party" which they are classically not.

As a treat enjoy this Ryan Grim prediction / quote-Tweet where Wikler laid out out his platform of austerity for the DNC consultant class.

LGBT Americans are the Democrats' house Negroes. I'm sorry if that comparison offends anyone, but it's the most accurate societal comparison I can make. The Democrats let us come right up close and then remind us we are really just there to serve them with our votes and campaign contributions.

I'm not sure what it was about the immigration amendment vote that made me so angry -- it's not like being thrown under the political bus hasn't become a commonplace for LGBT Americans. Maybe it was because I know what those airport farewells are like. Or maybe it was just the cumulative effect of the Democrats screwing me and every other LGBT person in America over time and again. Or maybe it felt racist in addition to homophobic.

At present over 50,000 lesbian and gay couples would be impacted by the amendment being withdrawn. That's a lot of tears in a lot of airports around the world.

But immigration reform for LGBT people isn't just about lesbian and gay married couples. It's also about LGBT people who either want to come here or need to come here because where they live, they could be beaten, removedd, imprisoned, or killed for being queer.

Prefix this with: not that this matters at all. There have been a number of recent instances of democrats moving to the Republican Party. From a procedural POV is there anything stopping a democrat from switching to the Green Party, PSL, or the like?
