Some insight here: one of the key factors in Chinese cultural identity is the family unit. Whereas the American family unit is limited to yourself, your spouse, and your potential children, the Chinese family unit stretches further back to your parents/grandparents. There's a much stronger pressure to have and raise children, which impacts the cultural perception of LGBT rights.

Looking at a map of China, I always have a bit of appreciation for how well they've integrated the indigenous names of all the cities.

For example, Urumqi wasn't always known as Urumqi: under Qing rule, it was relabeled as Dihua, a name it held until the CPC took power.

A little bit of contrast to the Russian approach and a huge contrast to the American/British approach of just renaming everything.

Didn't Ukraine literally just launch missile/artillery attacks at random civilian targets in Donetsk... The same thing they've been doing for almost a decade?

Take a look at how the list of richest people in the world changed after the collapse of the Soviet Union. It's really quite telling.

Can I get a source? I'd love to show it to the people claiming Israel created a "safe zone"

People wonder why India, China, and Turkey aren't super sympathetic to them 🤷‍♀️

Sure, but their offensives and encirclement happened mostly in Jan/Feb/Mar.

Clearing the city took until May, though.

Didn't Russia literally take Bakhmut over the winter?
