Who gives a shit what he looks like. Focus on the real problems instead of being childish like the conservatives.

Yes, and now Trump will help provide significantly more arms than Harris would have, even if she kept providing the same amount as Biden. Surely I don't have to tell you that that's worse?

We need to mobilize to change the DNC and Democratic Party leadership in the time we have in between these decisions, not ignore it for 4 years and then throw away your vote in protest.

Does anybody know if there's groups organizing already that are trying to cause that kind of reform? Would be good to spread the word if somebody has the ball rolling already. I think a huge portion of the voter base feels disenfranchised by not having an actually progressive platform to vote for.

You can be rightfully mad at the party that's failing to represent you correctly (I certainly am) and still make the pragmatic choice of not getting the guy who will make those issues worse elected.

We need to come together nationally and locally to attempt to affect change within the DNC more often than every 4 years, because it seems like every time we're all reminded how incompetent they are, it's too late for us to do anything about it for that election cycle.

What lesson exactly? That if the ideal candidate isn't run, a subset of liberals will pick the worse of two options?

All that does is teach the conservatives that if they can convince you that the democrat candidate fails you enough on a single issue, they effectively have your vote. Regardless of the conservative candidate's stance on that issue.

You have made the choice to make the problem you care about profoundly worse because there wasn't a way to make it completely better. Have fun watching that play out as you intended I guess.

Thanks for the recommendation! Here's the short story mentioned if anyone else wants a read: https://www.mit.edu/people/dpolicar/writing/prose/text/thinkingMeat.html

The Library of Babel by Borges melted my brain as a teenager.

What are some of your favorite mods you have on this playthrough?

Right, I think this is the point that the above comment is making as well. That the numbers of publicly/out gay people went up because of a more accurate count thanks to a less hostile sociopolitical climate.

I think the point that's being confused in that comment is that the fear mongering was obviously bullshit, and modern bigots pointing at any increase in LGBTQ+ identification nowadays may continue to use those statistics as justification for anti-LGBTQ+ platforms. Instead of engaging that argument that the hate mongers have always known is in bad faith, it's much more to the point nowadays to make them explain what they think is wrong with increased LQBTQ+ identification, or as the original comment put it, "Yeah, and?"

Thanks for providing this. Very well might be the source of the quote based on the date published.

Also worldnetdaily.com is known for promoting falsehoods and is considered a hate group so I think there's still a decent chance that even that article linked isn't a real quote from Norris, though it might be since he was self-promoting via "Chuck Norris facts" for a while.

Anybody got a source on that quote? Looked for a minute but didn't find proof he said that. Chuck is a dumbass and those sentiments are echoed here, but this kind of seems like a fake meme quote to me. Please provide a source if I've missed it!
