Does lemmy have an unethical life pro tips community yet? You'd probably get better results if we did.

Who is that?

Lemmy sucks more and more everyday.

It's sucking fast. I've been blocking so much lately. Like ...just pointless shit. Usually in communities that are irrelevant to the post.

Is it possible to block instances as a regular user?

That looks gross as fuck.

Do you have cancer now?

/S in terms of me being an asshole. Not /s in terms of me being honest.

I'm posting here because I assume a lot of you use vpns and this sub seems to have the most users to ask.

I was thinking about getting a VPN but was wondering about port forwarding.

I'm a Linux head so I would be downloading distros via torrent. If the VPN does not support port forwarding is it still possible to use for Linux torrents? I'm not going to be "seeding" media and extreme amounts of data, but the device would always be on and torrenting. In this case does port forwarding matter?

I guess I don't really understand dynamic and static port forwarding.

For my use case would mullvad or protonvon work even though they both use dynamic port forwarding? Or do I have to find one with static ports...?

This VPN would be used on a server with docker...

The other one I was looking at was airvpn, which is static, but I also read it might become more popular for people that use it for... Whatever... since mullvad stopped static ports.

Are there work around for dynamic ports? In case I ever want to host a website in the future?

What's the benefit of private trackers?

Do they really have more content and better speeds?

I've seen claims of better privacy but just over the last month iirc there were a few in trouble.

America sucks. Seriously. I'm just waiting for another country to bring it to the USA, because it seems inevitable.

People gotta stop putting faith into these ultimately crooked nations.

I don't get that platform. I just signed up for mastodon and am not sure I'm feeling that either.

I feel like these Twitter-style sites are just ...like... Keyboard warriors. It's just smug post after smug post.

It honestly creeps me out. Like I see all these popular political posts by profile icons I recognize.... But every post is just whinging...

Who are these people and why do they get popularity and even mentioned on the news as truth when their posts have no sources and are just bullshit political emotion. Then you read a news article that "Twitter is cancelling....". All because there was one post about with someone acting like a dick.

Does anyone know of a service that saves and manages bookmarks and links. Like one that would work from android/ipad/desktop.

Is this a thing?

How can I block meme, political nonsense anti-social posts, and shitpost instances?

Is there a way to do it with Infinity for Lemmy? I saw a tutorial for using unlock but I use android apps for lemmy. I want to shut out the basement dungeon naive political kids.
