I'm not the person you replied to but their experience sounds like mine. I agree 100% with that. I really enjoy making my own tools and figuring out things for myself but what I find interesting and useful is rarely what other people care about.

I'll lose myself for hours making and axe handle with hand tools or cobbling together my own Linux desktop for the hell of it but creating yet another form to validate on a web app I have no need for is like pulling teeth.

I wish I could be someone's garden hermit and just grow flax and contribute to open source projects

I cracked up during the Jan 6th hearings when his aide said she came into a room and saw a broken plate and ketchup splattered on the wall.

The helmet kissing thing at the RNC was insane and hilarious too. Weird dude

Look, I'm sorry I didn't vote in 2016 but I've voted every time since then and started paying attention to local politics. Now I have a protected bike lane next to my neighborhood and the roads aren't full of holes

That serenity is why I enjoy running Arch with basically nothing on it. My OS doesn't do shit and I love it

A lot of the comments are talking about writing being the game changer but it took generations of selective breeding crops and livestock to make them viable for domestication. We haven't found any evidence of domestication prior to about 12k years ago in archeology or genetics. There were many civilizations who built large cities and never needed a writing system.

I wanted to share the article with friends and copy a part of the text I wanted to draw attention to but the asshole site has selection disabled. Now I will not do that and timesnownews can go fuck themselves
