It is, but they never forced anyone to take the update, so that might save their asses, or it might not
boonhet
Ah, but did you read the article?
MS didn't force it, Heimdal auto-updated it for their customers based on the assumption that Microsoft would label the update properly instead of it being labeled as a regular security patch. Microsoft however made a mistake (on purpose or not? Who knows...) in labeling it.
His official title is commander-in-chief. The generals answer to him AFAIK.
I reckon that in all likelihood the Project 2025 folks will piss him off at some point and he'll just throw a tantrum and refuse to work with them. Doesn't mean he'll suddenly turn into a leftist, but if he doesn't play ball, they'll have trouble getting anything passed.
Don't worry, the communists of Lemmy are already celebrating the Trump victory.
They were never leftists, or if they are, then they're extremely anti-American leftists who want to see the US burn, not improve.
Yea but with the republicans you already sorta expect it. Harris pivoted from a really sensible campaign that honestly I think would've won, to "look at all these rich people, celebrities and even right-wing warmongers who support me!" - and while I get the point - a dirtbag like Cheney supporting Harris is a sign of how fucked up Trump REALLY is - the message might not have been as clear to everyone.
2020-2024 had one Supreme Court Justice to appoint. Now there’s another 2 if not 3
And you bet your ass they'll appoint them as young as possible so they've got their pocket justices for another 40 or 50 years.
So this is a bit hard to gauge because (as you most likely know), outside of the US, it isn't just a left-right line that explains everything.
In my experience the far right shitbags are more about "Keep our country ours" and "Keep the tradition of marriage pure" (aka let's deport all black people and criminalize the gay). But in my country at least they want to keep healthcare and such. It's the liberals, aka the center right, that wants private health insurance. At the same time, the liberals socially are quite liberal...
In many countries it's been working long enough that unless someone tries to fuck with it, nobody really thinks about it
Or blueshift for the other half
Celebrating their victory, where else?
I'm European and I subscribe more to American exceptionalism than European exceptionalism.
I mean the US has exceptionally awesome landscapes and national parks, exceptionally friendly and polite people and uh... Yeah, exceptionally nasty politics, that's the one. That's the one I hate.
It's a country with so much potential, and most of it is spent bickering instead of building a better future for everyone. Which they damn well could afford with their GDP per capita.
