I can't speak for the residents of your town, but I too would be delighted to see bird pictures everywhere ๐Ÿ˜

Not many people know it, but penguins are excellent brick layers and if they were smart enough, ostriches and emus would make excellent guard birds! Also, kiwis are just adorably awkward, so they're there to keep the morale up ๐Ÿ˜‰

Exactly like Brock Turner, rapist who got convicted to 3 months of wrist slapping.

To quote Steven Tyler, ironically a hectomillionaire himself, from Eat The Rich:

"My attitude may taste like shit, but goes real good with wine"

I recommend a lighty chilled 2024 Mad Dog 20/20.

material value

I think that's the point that they're making: it's supposed to be about which object of immense EMOTIONAL value would make people the happiest, and then a lot of people make it about their material value in stead.

As much as I understand their disappointment, though, Lemmy of all places is so full of nerds and geeks (said with love as a geek myself) who know a lot about technical stuff that it was pretty much bound to happen..

Fun fact: when my country transitioned to a new public authentication app, the default way was to use your passport to register. My passport was expired, though, so I had to show up in person with my birth certificate and social security card equivalent.

To get my birth certificate, I had to show up at the local office with, you guessed it, my passport.

Lucky for me that they accepted it in spite of being expired (none of the pertinent information such as my face, name and birth date had expired, after all), or I would probably be trapped in the loop to this day, years later.

He's currently behind the mango Mussolini in the polls and, other than "at least I'm not the other guy" being a much less effective strategy for an incumbent than a challenger no matter how awful the challenger is, this is the main reason.

Biden may be a corrupt right wing reactionary, but he's not enough of a fool that he's not beginning to realize the fact that he probably has to change course on this or run a very high risk of losing the last fair and open US presidential election.

Historians are written by genetic material as well as experiences and reactions to both.

Judging by the comment you're replying to, I'd say 5 hours or less.
