Use the user profiles feature of grapheneos to make a "social" profile and only use that to access Instagram / facebook.

Meta sells your convo data on WhatsApp for ads, if you use it you will get targeted ads regardless.

Other options are signal (Molly on fdroid), simplex, etc.

And if you need port forwarding use airvpn. Proton seems more and more sketch every day

Okay you asked the question, got the answer, and are clearly not listening to what people are saying and still trying to get people to agree this one is just as good...

Scrap this shitty freemium copycat add on and just use ublock origin.

It seriously is not that complicated.

Great, glad we have agreements with Mexico to aid us. I remember a couple years ago we sent the Mars bomber from BC to Mexico to help as well.

Now if only the UCP would stop cutting our own wildfire fighters maybe we wouldnt need to call in international reinforcements every year.

Anyone aware of a target date for when FreeCAD 1.0 and/or Ondsel 2024.3 will be released?

Background:

I'm coming from using onshape, looking for a local opensource alt. After researching freecad (and forks) it seems if I was to start learning now, I'm in for a significant shift in workflow when 1.0 releases.

In its current state I'd lean towards ondsel.

Kind of putting off the switch till one or both implement the topo naming fix, and the other major ui changes for mainline, so I don't need to learn two different workflows.

But I'm getting antsy and want to get learning soon.

Google updated something that broke most third party clients this past week... newpipe had the fix within an evening and the rest followed shortly after.

I had multiple updates over a few days on smarttube beta so the devs must have been working overtime to get it fixed and its working great again now.

Reminder to consider donating to the project if you get use out of it.

Airvpn is what I landed on for port forwarding

Ya there's no such thing as "being forced to use it". What are they going to do, lock you in your room with no food if you refuse? Just stand up for yourself and say you are not comfortable having it in your room and don't compromise on it.

The TSA’s goal is to roll out the tech in all of the more than 430 airports that it covers, arguing that this kind of automation would reduce “friction” at airports — meaning, presumably, how long it takes passengers to move through security.

If you’re unhappy about the use of the tech, you can consider generating more friction next time you fly.

Good closing line

Atleast until after election time IMO.

As is pointed out on every @return2ozma post, there's other subs for that if you want to talk politics. Its clear the community is not enjoying the posts, they are heavily downvoted and spawn angry discourse every single time. Downvoting alone doesn't effectively filter the posts because of the small amount of content overall. Even heavily controversial posts are on the front page for weeks.

This is supposed to be a place to look at funny tweets not get infuriated at the US political system every time I open my feed.

Since there's no poll system implemented as far as I can tell...

1 Upvote = 1 vote to add rule against political posts

1 Downvote = 1 vote to keep the rules as they are
