That's weird,the people who popularized the term were the Russians,and originally it means something like Russkiy Mir, the Russian sphere of influence rather than some concept of unity between Western Europe and Asia

So it's odd Europeans would use it

Because socialism in this part of the world was shoddily built even by comparing it to other states

There always was latent racism here,but the communist period was a brief respite and a chance to start moving away from that

Sadly,after NATO moved in,all that remains is the ruins of what was and the festering pus that built up in people's minds before the fall and that was supercharged after by all the "exiles" coming back and having free reign to rewrite the history of the country
