Wayland isn't even adopted by every desktop environment yet. xfce, cinnamon, mate, lxqt, and all the ancient window managers all use x11, and all have their users.

Hexbear caters to a pretty specific flavor of Marxism. I think you'd be accepted, just be prepared. Pro China, Cuba, DPRK, etc positions are pretty much the norm, and you gotta have a lot of receipts if you want to push against any of those positions and prevent getting dunked on.

For most people it is literally:

1.Install steam 2.Change the setting so proton is used on all games 3.Download/install game 4.Play
