At this point it's literally just easier to use any Linux distro

I much prefer this over how lemmy.blahaj.zone defederated the entire lemmynsfw.com instance for one post the admins didn't like.

Eh? It's understandable. They shouldn't be forced to deal with any legal issues that come with it.

You can just use another instance that fits your needs, isn't that the whole point of this decentralized model?

Lemmy doesn't crash, the .world server does. Just use a smaller instance like lemmy.zip or lemm.ee

Permanently removing ads in Sync is just 20$ though; I wouldn't call it 'outrageous' for such a feature-rich app. The more expensive options are there if you want to further support the dev.

I'm talking about the community. A large part of the community absolutely is about gate-keeping and hating on corporations... and now devs too apparently.

Sync is just so much more polished and feature-rich than all of these already... It's exactly like how it was when it was for reddit, and it's just one dev! I don't mind at all paying for a fantastic app.

You guys are taking the justified corpo hate and extending it to talented individual devs just making a living.

I mean it is literally just an 'X'

At least x.org's has a cool circle too though

On that note, why would they decline tests in the first place? You're the one paying.

Damn those things live long huh
