Ein Liter Orangensaft vor'm Schlafengehen auf Ex. 🙃
Also meist knalle ich mir das schon präventiv rein. Sonst eben gut einheizen.

Yeah, these days it's obvious that video games are the next logical step in media consumption. First we had audio. Then we had audio+video. Now we have audio+video+interaction. You can literally watch a movie inside of a video game, if you care to.
But back then, the audio and video qualities of games weren't yet terribly developed. You could still easily find board games, or heck, sports, that were more complex than Pac-Man and Space Invaders.
I can definitely see that one would think, it's a novelty and not be able to imagine how cineastic games would become, or that some even contain books worth of history lessons.
I wish this kind of disclaimer would have been in my physics book in school. Big reason why I didn't pursue an academic career in physics is because all the quantum stuff sounded like a religion, trying to convince itself that superpositions are real and you can't measure things, because you just can't.
Many years later I know that there's explanations for these things and that some of the illogical things I've been told were not nearly as certain or just flatout wrong. Because yeah, we're still pushing the boundaries of our understanding outwards...
I quite like the star-button on Mastodon for this. Just pings the comment author that you appreciated their comment. So, it's not an indication to some algorithm that this comment is incredibly relevant for everyone, because well, some comments just aren't.
There's a comic, titled "Loss", which is infamous, because it's incredibly fucking depressive. People don't enjoy being reminded of it. And so, of course, it has become an internet culture / meme thing to do precisely that, but in a sneaky way.
In particular, the comic has 4 panels and an arrangement of characters in a certain, recognizable pattern. So, over time, it's been reduced ad absurdum to just this pattern.
Well, and in the meme above, it becomes apparent that it's replicating the Loss pattern, when that fourth panel has the DNA flipped on its side. So, the joke is that we have the pattern-seeking brain for recognizing Loss.
Wow, I was not aware of this. That's a pretty big reason why I make my stuff open-source, so others can look through it and learn from it. I know, everyone who stayed on GitHub is officially Microsoft's bitch now, but I still can't fathom why this didn't make bigger waves...
While I agree with this meme, I would still like to present the following counterargument:
I mean, I wouldn't be surprised, if what you say is true. It is the typical PR playbook to calm down the shitstorm and then not bring it up, again.
But at the same, they've enjoyed a lot of industry goodwill in the past, because we recognized that they're not IT professionals and were just doing their best. If they don't do this investigation, that shows they're not doing their best. And at least personally, I am more than ready to start tearing them a new one for their wild technological incompetence.
