If the EU abolishes DST in its member states, there won't be any patches or updates necessary to software out there. The timezone database will simply be updated to reflect the change of policy and bam, once your system has the new tzdata, restart your apps and they will automatically understand it. This is not like the Y2K bug that needed actual patches.

Well, according to Trump, there is no friendship between nations, only deals and leverage. Well, orange man, what do you have to offer for our eggs? Maybe lift your stupid tariffs again?
Ah yes, because the war on drugs worked soooooo well in the US.
Wait, the news said last night that the passus about shunning US arms industry was ultimately removed from the EU resolution's last draft. Now here's another article claiming it's in, plus even extended to include Israel? None of the news sources I found actually link to the freakin' EU papers they are all talking about.
The white paper ( https://defence-industry-space.ec.europa.eu/document/download/30b50d2c-49aa-4250-9ca6-27a0347cf009_en?filename=White+Paper.pdf ) only contains "Israel" in one place and it's not about where to spend money.
Can someone guide me to the actual, final, real, true statement the EU made?
some basic manners before going into politics.
I don't think manners ever mattered for political success. They might even be a hindrance.
