Summoning Salt.

Not many people can make a 2 hr video about the world record progression of a game I've never heard of and have me absolutely invested in it all the way through.

Dude makes a video every 3-6months but god I love them. If anything they've improved over the years as his style has been refined and the videos got longer.

In modular arithmetic you can make 1+1=0 but I'm struggling to think of a situation where 1+1=1 without redefining the + and = functions.

Not saying you're wrong, but do you have an example? I'd be interested to see

Mathematicians know wolfram is wrong and it was warned in my maths degree that you should "over bracket" in WA to make yourself understood. They tried hard to make it look like handwritten notation because reading maths from a word processor is typically tough and that creates the odd edge case like this.

1/2x does not equal 0.5x or it'd be written x/2 and I challenge you to find a mathematician who would argue differently. There's no ambiguity and claiming there is because anyone anywhere is having this debate is like claiming the world isn't definitely round because some people argue its flat.

Sometimes people are wrong.

Sounds like something a fat stupid American would say.

My 10month old son has always just shut up and listened whenever sound of silence comes on (the disturbed version, he doesn't care for S+G it seems) and that was my number 1 by a distance I think.

367 listens, so more than daily, I don't mind though as it's a proper banger and I could listen to David Draimans voice forever.

I don't get this mentality. I've rented for over a decade and always wall mounted my TVs. It's not tricky to unmount and fill in 6 or 8 holes with a bit of filler.

Do some renters really not hang pictures or put up shelves either? The effort to correct it is probably less work than it is to hang in the first place.

People very upset that a company which exists to make money has used the cheaper option for the part of a TV that 80% of buyers will leave in the box anyway.

I saw a comment suggesting that it must only be $5 to add a proper stand. TCL made 30million TVs last year so that's a substantial bonus for whoever made that choice.

Breaking news! Budget TV has budget parts!

I guess everyone is on the right when you're on the absolute most extreme left.

You summarised my feelings far more eloquently than I managed here yesterday.

Downvote for you!!

But seriously, lemmy feels like more of an echo chamber than reddit ever did to me (which is saying a lot), maybe that's because it's an echo chamber for views i don't agree with and reddit was more aligned to my thinking so I notice it more here, but dear god it's getting harder and harder to stick around.

Welcome to lemmy.

My first date with my wife involved her explaining the plot of kingdom hearts to me over 2 hours and 3 bottles of wine.

I appreciate I'm very fortunate, but it does happen, and I would say gaming was basically both of our only interests at the time (besides weed for me, and doctoring for her, but we don't exactly overlap with those things!).

Not sure I agree there, the term win/win suggests they've listed both possibilities and both are a win. It implies a no lose scenario and therefore that all options have been presented.

Buying a lottery ticket I could win £10 or I could win £10 million, it's win/win!
