@oivoi I have quite a few non-steam games installed. I've used Bottles, Lutris, and Heroic, along with EmuDeck and itch.io. I've also manually installed some fan games.

Being able to switch desktop mode and use the Deck as a decent PC (when hooked to my monitor and kb&m) is one of the reasons I was interested in the Steam Deck to begin with. Though I do enjoy tinkering almost as much as I do actually playing the games.

@thingsiplay I've only been actively using Steam for about a year and wasn't aware of everything you mentioned. I appreciate the detailed reply. That's all very helpful.

@IDew sure thing! Best of Steam, especially, has been really useful for me when it comes to finding new games.

@Fubarberry My one wish is they (Valve, Nintendo, etc.) could make discovery easier and more useful. It takes a lot of effort finding new games to play that aren't the usual major releases and obvious indie titles.

Edit: The two resources I use are https://bestofsteam.com/ and https://steam250.com/

@Fubarberry Still into Balatro. Also getting into Minishoot Adventures and Hades 2 thanks to that surprise EA release!

@Amanduh I bounced off of Balatro the first few times I tried it too. I was a little confused about what I was doing and what my end goal was. I'm honest;y not sure what clicked, but I've been hooked ever since.
