This is a Dengist community in favor of Bashar al-Assad with no information that can lead to the arrest of Hillary Clinton, our fellow liberal and queen. This community is not ironic. We are Marxists-Leninists.

This community is for posts about Marxism and geopolitics (including shitposts to some extent). Serious posts can be posted here or in /c/GenZhou. Reactionary or ultra-leftist cringe posts belong in /c/shitreactionariessay or /c/shitultrassay respectively.

We have a Matrix homeserver and a Matrix space. See this thread for more information. If you believe the server may be down, check the status on status.elara.ws.

Notably, tankies are more inclined to use the term ‘Zionist’ as a blanket label for Israel and its citizens.

That is likely because A. ‘Israeli’ was never anything more than a meme nationality, and B. some of us want to make it clear that the settlers’ heritage is of no concern to us. Our problem with their settlers has nothing to do with their heritage, but with their demonization of innocents and theft of said innocents’ land and other resources. The settlers could have been Polish, Romani, Serbian, or whatever, and it wouldn’t have mattered.

Our toxicity analysis also indicates that tankies are more likely than other far-left groups to post antisemitic content targeting Jews.

What would be an example of this? For all that I know, their software could interpret a statement like ‘Jews should kill Zionists’ as an ‘antisemitic’ remark based on the keywords alone. I’d be curious to have a conversation with them about this, but I really doubt that any of them is going to approach me to try.

I love how they use the term "revisionist" to refer to media from countries they don't like. The whole article is also a beautiful horseshoe theory polished turd.

My bet is that this is their definition of revisionist

A revisionist use of the term revisionism? We are reaching levels of Hoxha that shouldn't even be possible

Oh. This is the same article that we tore to shreds several months ago back when it first popped up on arxiv:

in a quick look through, while it is the same authors and the same conclusion, it looks like they are technicaly difrent papers, or atleast it has gone through significant revisions.

It looks like a summary ("Insight") of the same paper:

This Insight is based on a study that seeks to address this gap, offering a comprehensive examination of a left-wing extremist community on Reddit known as ‘tankies’.
