Disagree, the people OP mentioned probably want slavery and corporal punishment back

Dang. It took until I saw that https://www.infowars.com/posts/not-so-fast-judge-halts-infowars-sale-to-onion-due-to-shady-auction-procedures had Alex Jones' Twitter in red from Shinigami Eyes to realize that this wasn't supposed to be an Onion parody, because it would really be funny for the Onion to have pretended this was the case if it weren't

Depending on the age of the person, they might simply not care about the difference, in the same way people inaccurately call gen Z millenials

Translation: After making an obviously weak show of pretending to care about Palestine, the US government makes shocking revelation that it was just an obviously weak show of pretending to care about Palestine.

Just so it's clear since it's The Onion reporting, this one is actually a real story.

Time to bring out the big guns:

Wait, why is nobody mad?

If I understand correctly, the infighting was due to non-admin wreckers, which led to an instance being banned from Hexbear's allow list, and the way it was handled by admins, which ultimately led to TC69 leaving Hexbear yet again, not so much the actual change itself. What could have been a minor change blew up into a major incident.

No, Ukraine did. South Korea just backed them up.

See https://lemmygrad.ml/post/6007978:

It started when Kyiv Independent quoted a “Western source” that the DPRK has sent 10.000 troops to Russia

...

The latest “evidence” posted of these supposed DPRK soldiers “fighting for” Russia is two videos without a date or location, but purportedly from Russia’s far east. In both videos you can hear Korean being spoken. In one video they are outside training, and in the other they are receiving Russian uniforms.

The Western media can’t even get their story straight though. First they reported that South Korea’s intelligence has said 12000 DPRK soldiers are fighting for Russia in Ukraine but then they revised their story to say 1500 DPRK troops are fighting for Russia. If you look at the CNN url, you will see that it still says “12000 troops”, although the title and the body of the article have changed.

Tankies were right after all, yet again.

South Korean intelligence officials have adopted a skeptical stance when it comes to reports from Ukraine. It’s gotten to the point where Korean intelligence officials are telling reporters to hold off on relaying reports about North Korean troops from Ukrainian officials until they receive third-party confirmation, because Ukraine makes “fake news” at the state level. This means we have to carefully consider the source of the information and the intentions behind it.

fascists of course aren’t people and cannot be treated like they’re people

Hard disagree. Fascist takes shouldn't be tolerated in an ideal government, but fascist supporters are people, even if they do monstrous things. It's important to remember that, at least for those of us in the international-community-1international-community-2, fascists are regular people you will meet in your regular life.

I wonder if there are any theoretical works that actually dive deeper into the connection between the cultural aspects for LGBTQ+ people and compulsory cisheterosexuality.

If it weren't for the ableist framing, Redditor being in the illegitimate category is a take I would agree with.

The Coke vs. Pepsi part by itself could easily have been reposted with the title "Ah yes, the two genders" as an ironic trans meme though

You can use the LGBTQIA+ Wiki if you're curious about a term, for instance: https://lgbtqia.wiki/wiki/Genderqueer

Yes, I said most for a reason: gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, and asexual (5 out of 8, a majority) are sexualities.

The other three are definitely not: Intersex refers to physical sex traits, and the other two (transgender and genderqueer) do actually relate to gender identity in some way.

And even if it had been like what the reporting would have you believe: https://lemmygrad.ml/post/6185867

Lol, can we do Big Oil next?

It's been linked occasionally in mega-posts about the topic but worth mentioning specifically since the aforementioned assessment is probably the best evidence of human rights issues that libs can point to

...and for those who don't (gender reveals aren't for everyone, it's okay), let us never forget the terrible tragedy that occurred 51 years ago on this day.

I know what critical means in critical support, but I'm curious what Russia's motivations are here if true.
