This is how hospitals were started and churches historically played a big role. What if hospitals and churches got back to this shit? We need to simplify it though, a night in an emergency room bed shouldn't cost $30k. Last time I was in I was told I was lucky I got an IV fluid bag.

Imagine if the Catholic Church just gave away free healthcare in America? It would change its public image overnight. And probably get a few new followers for their trouble. But no one can count on humanity anymore; it isn't profitable.

I would absolutely overlook all the kid-diddling and genocide if the church could get me an advil for sure.

Um, you can have hospitals without churches. We have them a lot in the first world.

Some hospitals are affiliated with religious groups, though, even here. They trade the American "my death panel is my bank account" method with "my death panel is some priest interpreting the wishes of an imaginary friend" method of deciding care. The services provided are fewer, sometimes much fewer, and still run as profit centers.

Maybe a triage against labour supply is the only death panel we need?

I haven't paid at a hospital or primary-care clinic in over a decade. $0. I don't pay monthly membership costs. And I don't pay user fees at point-of-care. This may change as our ignorant hillbillies appear to be completely duped by greedy conservatives on the run-up to our elections, but we'll see if we can avoid the leopards this go-around.

Um I wasn't saying we needed churches for hospitals. I was saying both churches and hospitals should get back to their history of helping people. Are you upset by the history of churches helping people? Because your response didn't seem appropriate to what I said. There's a lot of bad, but it isn't all bad.
