Observations for today:

  • clothing with brand names plastered all over it is vulgar and tacky
  • I saw a bottle of Dove body wash in Woolworths today for seventeen dollars ...honestly getting fisted would be less painful than buying that.
  • apparently it's going to get to 38 degrees on Sunday? We'll see. Some of these forecasts lately have a habit of being very changeable.

Could be a good weekend to plan for a doona, blanket and rug wash marathon. Possibly go through the linen cupboard and give EVERYTHING a wash & do a general audit thereof. Then donate the unused and unnecessary items.
Re clothing with brand names - do band t-shirts count as such?

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago

A band tshirt not as bad. There's usually some effort of design involved and most bands aren't multinational corporations. They actually produce something meaningful.

if you have any of those old ugly dancing bear tees that no one wants and which are very unwanted and unfashionable I would take them off your hands but only if you ask nicely

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Dancing bear tees? Not on your nelly. They are MINE!

I'm very sus about that Saturday forecast too, but I'll be planning to have a quiet day at home with the AC nevertheless.

As for body washes - people are asking to be ripped off buying them at RRP at Colesworths. Either go to Chemist Warehouse/Big W or wait for the inevitable 50% off. Or if you don't mind grey imports, go to The Reject Shop.

Like we all know Colesworth is a rip off but when I saw that price tag I thought it was particularly egregious.

38 degrees on Sunday

fan forced too

I really dislike clothes with brand names all over; gives me serious ick about the person. Like, stop paying to advertise a company that doesn't give one shit about you (general "you", not you you lol)

[โ€“] [email protected] 4 points 9 months ago

I understand why poorer people buy name brand name clothes.

They can't take the risk that something they buy will be crappy as they can't buy again. So they buy brand names where they know what quality they are getting.

They do the same for food too.

[โ€“] [email protected] 4 points 9 months ago

Agreed and they haven't thought put anything into the design. They've gone some idiot will buy this if we slap our logo on it.

Awww fun way to end the day, both downstairs bathrooms have various plumbing issues, and the guest toilet smells like sewage.

This houses nice clean interior really did fool us when we picked it, nothing but maintenance issues since day one.

I don't know a lot... but sometimes if a sink, bath or toilet hasn't been used in a long time/isn't used regularly there's no barrier of water in the S-bend to stop sewer smells coming back up. If it is due to that it can help to use it occasionally to fill the S-bend back up.

Only mentioned that on seeing the words 'guest toilet' and hoping that was one quick fix to reduce the number of problems, but IANAP (I am not a plumber).

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I don't think that would be a problem, it's by the front door, so it's a rather popular downstairs amenity.

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 9 months ago

Ah I hope you can get it sorted soon then, it sounds horrible

I forgot to post after my return post but I'm here, I've got all good news, I started a polymer clay jewellery business - I haven't had any sales yet but I'll get there eventually. I'm also really enjoying/experiencing the benefits of ADHD medication, it's wonderful having a clear brain for a good chunk of the day.

Accidentally napped for over 3 hours. Woke and remembered the washing I put on at lunch time was still in the machine. Not covering myself in glory today.

Dinner is in the oven. I really should have started it sooner, I won't be eating until around 8pm tonight.

I got lots of stuff out of the house and shed today for hard rubbish. A fair bit of stuff has walked off on its own already which is good, although much of it has walked two doors down to a new neighbour's house. Hopefully they just need lots of stuff & are not hoarders.

The kitchen is immaculately clean. Time to buy dinner so it can stay clean for at least a few hours.

[โ€“] [email protected] 7 points 9 months ago

Jelly of you as well.

[โ€“] [email protected] 8 points 9 months ago

pain is tiring, sleep elusive

first time in my life I fear getting old

on a super positive note other than my back and a little fat I'm really physically healthy,

[โ€“] [email protected] 7 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I am tired. I have full belly. I have nap now.

[โ€“] [email protected] 6 points 9 months ago

I am so jelly.

[โ€“] [email protected] 5 points 9 months ago

Got off work early though not as early as expected and ran in for a hair cut, no line, super fast.

I'm not sure I like my cut but nothing can be done about it now.

Not one of my usual barbers that I'd had before

Melbcat has a tummy ache and is ripping farts... her vet says she's ok to monitor but I'm going to watch her and try to sort out some help to take her back to the vet if this keeps going. I can't give her metacam in case that's the issue so I'm going to heat up her tiny personal wheatbag

Edit: She's still eating well and jumps at the rustle of treats

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Iโ€™m going to heat up her tiny personal wheatbag

aw, I hope she feels better soon

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 9 months ago

Thanks. I've texted to sort a lift and we might be able to get in Friday/Saturday

I'm really so bloody tempted by those "free return" Jetstar flights to Japan on sale right now. I wanna go. But I should find a job first or some other way of covering my rent between now and then. Argh

Housemate and I are having a watch TV and work from the couch day.

In this show we are watching the main character randomly ended up pregnant at the start of the season, and my housmate pointed out how when an actress is actually pregnant they do this weird thing were they do the opposite of over act being pregnant. Now I can't unsee how much it's all underplayed, like God forbid anyone including the actress acknowledge the baby for more than a millisecond. I mean, I get it, but its weird once you notice it.

Kidcalhoon1 got her expander out today. First time she's smiled after a visit to the ortho. Feels good man.

So that Amazon order that was delayed from last Thursday, the one that I was going to get a refund for today, finally turned up at 7.59pm last night. Phew.
