Literally what the fuck is the crime

Like the lady in Florida who said “Delay Deny Depose” you can stretch and say it was a threat. It wasn’t, but you can stretch and say it was a crime.

This one, literally what crime. What is the charge? It’s “criminal mischief” but that means precisely fuck all.

The charges do not mention the content of the posters.

We need to know what the posters say.

nvm they are transcribed in this article

https://www.campustimes.org/2024/11/13/wanted-posters-accusing-university-affiliates-displayed-throughout-campus/

and from this article

Following administration’s response, the University’s chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) released a counterstatement addressing widespread claims of the posters’ antisemitic intentions.

“Antisemitism is bigotry or hatred against Jewish people on the basis of their identity and we unequivocally oppose it,” the JVP statement read. “It is not, however, antisemitic to criticize the Israeli government and military that is committing war crimes.”

they’re being charged with felony criminal mischief

these students had been charged with criminal mischief in the second degree, but that the crime doesn’t fit the qualifications of a hate crime.

So Criminal Mischief is basically vandalism? Because they hung paper on walls of a private building? What is local law enforcement thinking?

they are thinking you can arrest anyone for any amount of time for opposing the state of Israel and recieve almost no pushback for doing so and they are largely right
