Just watched FI,KM. and liked it. It's not really the kind of anime I usually like, and it definitely has its flaws, but it was very enjoyable.
FI,KM.
The Nisekoi parallels are so obvious, the comparisons make themselves!

I wanted to ask, anyone that has watched Nisekoi, if you thought it was good? I see the MAL score (~7.5) and it's similar to FI,KM. so that's inspiring, though it is a relatively low score.

Also, if you've watched both, which one do you think is best, and which one did the "forced love" trope better?

Ive watched it before. From what i remember it was a decent watch, and i agree with others it has its good moments overall towards the first part, however not as impactful storywise towards the end. Mind you its been a while ago since i watched both, the one thing that stuck to me was the music used, i defintley love the openings as it was ClariS music running on it. That i didnt forget, if you see the video you see why, cause you start to ask questions about the story.

I can see the similarities now but I've never thought about that. Tbh even slight changes in an anime makes it a different show for me. I liked both. Niskoi more though. FI, KM always had a bit of a crappier, fan service feel to it. It's not bad though, just different

Season 1 was good but season 2 was pretty awful compared to the first. It was like they weren't interested in making it anymore. It doesn't help that the author was notorious for chickening out and not picking a side.

I enjoyed Nisekoi and would recommend. Found it entertaining to watch (although I'm also one of those people that gets unreasonably loud and excited when watching rom-coms so ymmv).

It is quite episodic and follows a formula of getting MC interacting with a chosen girl of the week in a one-off scenario for each story. This cycle kinda repeats itself forever without moving the plot forward much or developing MC's relationship with any of the girls in any meaningful ways. You do occasionally see the main plot advance every once in a while which is centered around MC trying to find a promised girl whom he met in his childhood but those are few and far between.

The anime never finished adapting the manga so you'll have to read to finish it. It was animated by Shaft so quality is high and it has a bit of that Shaft surrealism in it (also Onodera being voiced by Kana Hanazawa was perfect). Personally, I found S1 to be a good watch but felt something in S2's pacing was really off for some reason.

As for the manga, it does drag on due to its episodic nature and molasses rate of storytelling. I felt at some point characters were literally being added to the harem simply as filler material to pad out the story. The ending also felt kinda hamfisted and left half the fanbase very salty.

Overall I would say watch S1 and see how you like it (there's a lot more of it if you do)
