You can always chase the build fairy or just pull the trigger and make a pc—regardless it will be outdated the second you boot it up.
Buildapc
Disagree. Not helpful.
just make a new PC if you want to and have the money—hardware is always going to be new and better and cheaper. If you're sitting here 10 years from now and are patting yourself on the back that you got an out of date component for a little cheaper than it was when it was new, uh… what’s the point?
For GPU price to performance and your budget, 7900 XT and 7900 XTX have good discounts right now.
For longtevity, I would suggest an X870 board for future CPU release options, 9800x3D for gaming, and 32GB RAM. If you ever decide to go up to a 16 core CPU you should take out the 32GB for 64GB. Don't add an additional 32GB, there's a difference in performance between 4 8GB and 2 32GB.
The GPU is whatever you want because it only takes 10 minutes to replace with a new one.
I personally am going to try to wait for the amd 9950X3D that should be shown at CES next year. I am currently rocking a similar type of rig with an upgraded GPU and SSD but I have a lot of storage.
I was going to get the one that just came out 9000X3D but hopefully waiting out a couple months (6maybe) could make a nice difference
Not sure if the adverse tariff effects would be screwing us by the 6 month mark. That's my major concern. I guess I could get a 3080 or 4080 ( though I feel like the 30 is better value ) right now and hold off on wholesaling my mobo/cpu/ddr4 but I feel like my cpu would then be a major bottleneck compared to everything else.
Side note, I've been an Intel guy my whole building career and I'm 100% jumping ship for AMD. Intel shat the bed and pulled the sheets over it and now their whole room smells like shit and I want no part of it. Cool to see hardly anyone even mentioning Intel chips now.
Yea Intel went in the gutter... I would not recommend doing what I did and just upgraded the GPU to 3080 or similar. For new titles the CPU is a huge bottleneck. (I don't really play more than maybe 1 new game a year right now) My 3080 can not utilize alot of its potential because of my CPU.
And I'm just hoping there will be an RDNA 4 card that at least matches the 7900 XTX
Yea not sure what I'm doing about GPU right now tbh I upgraded to a 3080 when they released but I will probably end up getting something just not sure what have not done much research on them tbh
The Ryzen 9000 and Nvidia 5000 are just out and soon, so maybe look at last gen parts as well, as good of a time as any to buy if you have the funds
From what I've heard the last gen and cpu is not likely to drop since from what I've heard not much left in stock.
