? I prefer the original special effects, but that's what I grew up with and it gives me the most comfort. I think the only way to watch the original is with the blurays at this point.
Back in the day prime used to have both available for streaming, but the golden era has ended.
If you want the highest quality video and audio the Blu-ray is the best you can get.
Doesn't the blu-ray set include both the remastered effects and the original effects? Last I looked it did.
Yes, that's why I picked them up.
I'm sorry, I misread your previous comment. For some reason I was thinking you didn't like the blu-rays because of the remastered effects.
Sorry for the awkwardness, 100% my bad
No worries, I think the way I write may have caused confusion. Trek on. ๐
If you check your local library, you might already have access to a DVD set.
Where are you? It's gonna defer depending on your country. In most of the world it's available on Netflix.
I've watched it on netflix and quality was as good as you could expect of it
Netflix in Canada has the 1080p remaster ones, pretty good!
Assuming you mean legally, the best options are Paramount+ (or whichever service it's on outside the US) or on Blu-ray. None of the television series are available in 4K to my knowledge, but the movies are.
I think the remastered version is pretty much the default that's available on Paramount+ or any other platform that has the license.
This is the answer. Also just personally speaking I found the quality of the other non-remastered series (DS9, VOY) to be slightly better on P+.
