I need your opinion and suggestions on the best Lemmy client to use.

P.S., I currently use Voyager as my client.

if ios, then Arctic for sure. it's the only one that feels as smooth as apollo did, has some excellent customizability, and is just as feature rich as the more popular clients

If you where a RIF user, go with boost. It's as close to rif as it gets. Since the rif dev went to that ban happy tildes site.

Can't recommend Thunder enough, especially if you like a good compact mode/gesture-based UI. The devs are great and very responsive on the github repo, and the app just keeps getting better!

Using Eternity and very happy with it, just as I was when it was Infinity for Reddit.

The web client is serviceable.

I use Thunder currently. My first Android Lemmy client was Jerboa, which was fine.

I've tried Voyager, and I can't remember right now why I didn't stick with it, but I ended up just gravitating towards Thunder. It's UI strikes the right balance between feature full and minimal imho.

Thanks for your honest opinion, mate.

I tried a handful, and the one I liked best is Thunder. There were aspects I liked about Voyager too, but Thunder was set up better in my opinion.

I tried a bunch of apps last year and settled on jerboa. My only complaint is the inability to default sort comments by old.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

It's fine but if you compare Jerboa side to side with Sync, you see that Sync is much smoother.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

I settled on it after trying Sync

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

Yep, the only decent mobile client.

when I tried it, it lagged like no other app does. it genuinely had 10-20 fps

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

I found one person that reply to me using it.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

Use use jerboa! I like the fact that you can see downvotes although I'm not sure if it's specifically a jerboa thing or some apps just don't do it

Tried all, ended up using Summit.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 weeks ago

Summit is a wonderful app, and the dev is super helpful. Can't recommend Summit enough.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

Same. Summit is amazing and since starting to use it a year ago I haven't even wanted to try anything else again.

And for reference I used to use baconreader for a decade over on Reddit. Summit has a similar vibe for me.

Wow, that’s the new thing for me!

I was a Boost for Reddit user. Now using wefwef for Lemmy. Does the job.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Boost is available for Lemmy though

If you’re on iOS, Arctic made some big updates that make it arguably better than Voyager IMO. The biggest thing that got me was color picker themes, so you can literally make your own theme (and save and share them). Also the markdown is pretty great now. Voyager is still pretty solid and very good performance and features.

I see. Glad to hear your opinion.
