Yawn. Is this what we're doing, now? Virtue signaling and ragebaiting when somebody doesn't explicitly support piracy?

This isn't a controversy. Mark's entire business is tied up in YouTube, and promoting piracy is against their ToS; he could lose his channel for that.

I agree, this isn't a ragebait. I actually posted it because I thought he was trying to avoid saying piracy is a bad thing, I don't know what is going on in the comments.

What a fucking pussy.

EDIT: To expand a little -

He literally has international users in chat talking about how free trials aren't available to them or that services literally aren't available in their country or its going to be released there months later or what have you and this fucking corporate dick sucking idiot is just like "bUt YoU hAvE tO PaY bC tHe SuItS mIgHt bE wAtChInG!" totally not because he is personally interested in profiting handsomely (and trying to create a career other than being a loser on the internet) from a project he stars in. It's entirely selfishly motivated. He's a pussy and a self interested prick.

I personally don't get expecting someone to put his livelihood on the line to say out loud what people want to hear. If Markiplier's lack of endorsement of piracy is what was going to stop you from pirating, I don't know what to say. If it's what it takes to make you stop supporting him, that's your choice.

For me, it sounds like he is saying, "My corporate overlords want me to say that piracy isn't the option. Heck, I don't know how it works, but it isn't too hard...uh...but I know only a little about it. They're standing behind me, aren't they?" I like him well enough, but have only watched his channel on other people's devices. If he was more senior, he might say different things, not unlike some developer studio leaders. He might not, hard to say. It won't have any bearing one way or another on my actions.

Wow, people are selfish bastards who will almost always put their needs before those of others. Who would have thought? I'm not defending him, I'm attacking you for expecting more of people.

And don't pretend you wouldn't have done the same. Put yourself in his position and tell me you wouldn't have done the same thing, or maybe even handled the situation worse than he did.

What happened? I thought people still liked markiplier, was there a controversy aside from this?
