Ended up making the trip in with my kids to listen from the park. Was worth it (kids thought it was awesome) - I'd say probably 15k people outside....
And this guy - just grooving from the back

It took a few days but I've put the second coat on the paper swatches. It's a bit worrying how thin the paint it and how much brush strokes show. If I began actually painting and needing two layers I'd need to either mix the sames colours perfectly twice or make more and keep it from drying out until it could be used.
It's fine. I don't even have a colour wheel or anything yet, and still don't know what official colours these knockoffs would be standing in for. I think I need to follow a few mixing guides and see how they behave first. ~~And learn how to draw~~
I'm laying watching The Curse of The Chippendales and in the half dark something decides to crawl across the floor. Maybe a cricket.
ALDI TRUMPET ACQUIRED
Fart noises incoming.
Yes, but now i also have a trumpet
Hectic week is just over. I'm drop dead tired, will miss having people to check in with. But also glad to be back in my own space and participating in things from a distance rather than being expected to compete with the popular and the pretty. Also I'd be glad not to go into the cbd for a good month or so. I'm so over it
I have been relatively pain free all day and unsurprisingly spent most of it sleeping
I've spent all day inside resting with Puddington Bear. Feeling pretty ordinary and so is she. Both of us are going to the vet this week
hugs , hope you both feel more than ordinary soon
Thanks. Hopefully we don't get mixed up and I don't get the cat flu shots
Maybe this a QLD school thing but does anyone remember having to learn to dance in high school? Like you'd learn the waltz and one other dance (mine was the cha cha) and then to pass you had to dance with the sports teacher (male teacher for the girls, female sport teacher for the boys).
Friend of mine just gave me a wild flashback to that part of my schooling, and adult me is thinking how fkn wild it was you had to get handsy with a teacher for a few minutes in the name of education.
That sounds hilarious. The only dance I learned in school PE was the nut bush.
Well would you look at that. I was spared at least one thing!
Yeah dance was in the PE rotation. As was getting your bra strap snapped by sundry brats. Not fun.
Yep. Only I went to a girls only boarding school, so we had to practice with mops/brooms in lieu of real meat boys. It was an hour of practice after classes twice a week in year 11. Dances were waltz, foxtrot, cha cha and some old time folk dances like the Pride of Erin, Dashing White Sergeant and Waves of Bondi. The idea was to be able to do the 'social' dancing of our grandmothers' generation. Rock&roll and disco were off the menu.
Meat boys πΉπΉπΉ
God forbid that anything male should pass through its hallowed portals.
Had that at my high school for sure. Edit: Vic HS, it was a physical education topic
God no. Didn't even do dance in high school.
It was a mandatory part of year 8/9 Phys Ed (usually somewhere in semester 1), you couldn't attend the mid-year school dance if you didn't pass.
Two stunning afternoons up in the hills and watched a House episode where a guy had his hand amputated.
Man, I have never been more grateful for my hands. Like I felt so so so unbelievably overwhelmed with gratitude it was kind of surreal.
Hope everyone has had an awesome weekend!
hugs

Mildly peeved that the bus driver blew right past the stop I was at, ignoring everyone who was waiting there. Had to wait half an hour for the next one.
But got some fudge, and found out that the brand I usually get shut up shop some months ago.
It's been one of those ripple days, where everything seems to be going up and down all at once.
Also anyone know any good place to look into getting a second hand bike (and a good place to ride in)? My current one is a bit knackered, and wondering whether it was worthwhile fixing it, or just replacing it completely.
I'm familiar with the bike shed at Ceres, but that's about it.
Busses are the vehicles of chaos, I love and hate them. The worst was the one from Glen Waverley to FTG/Rowville I used to take; it would go through Wheelers Hill along FTG Road down that huge fkn hill like a goddamn speed demon. It was like a fkn roller coaster, the bus driver would blow past the stop halfway down the hille everytime because they were going so fast.
I think about it and my heart starts beating real hard haha
6th night without power. Iβm so over it. Anxious AF.
Sounds awful. Hang in there, they are working on it. The damage was so extensive and thereβs only so many repair crews. Are you able to stay with someone overnight to get a break from it?
Farken hell. Did they at least set a vera up?
@Reonn @CEOofmyhouse56 crap, what area are you in? I checked the outages list and it was still huge yesterday. I'm in a rural area that gets regular outages, but they are usually resolved within about 12 hours. But the amount of trees down, damaged or basically exploded on the drive out from the city today was... exceptional. I'm not surprised it's taking them quite a while to rectify all the issues.
How come? That seems like a rather long time to be without power.
You are right, it IS a long time. Things are more complicated up in the hills. Too many trees.
I generally see every superhero movie on either the day it's released or even the night before if that's available (yes even Morbius), but I think I might just not go see Madame Web. It's not like I don't have the time or the money. I just don't have the urge. I think there might be something about Dakota Johnson which just rubs me the wrong way. That and after watching the trailer I feel like I can put the pieces of the movie together myself.
Has anyone here seen it and care to give non-spoilery thoughts?
The trailer put me off in a big way. I think it's going to become another meme.
To do list for tomorrow (putting it here so I am obligated to follow-through):
Cat tax?
just for you
That's one smug kitty.
