Doubtful. Aren't fireworks sort of a big deal in Chinese culture? Drone shows are cool but theres thousands of years of history there.
This initiative is being done by China themselves.
On the other hand, kind of fitting that China would be pioneering a new way to do fireworks. But yeah, I don't think traditional fireworks will go away entirely any time soon.
As they should, fireworks are loud and smelly
