Kinda crazy to me that he first pulls out the stops to block FN (their alt-right party), then later made overtures to them instead of the left wing. Like… fucking what.

Scratch a liberal, a fascist bleeds.

Macron needs the electoral threat of a fascist majority to spur people towards his lukewarm liberal En March. He didn't anticipate that Mélenchon would command such a popular turnout. So now he's scrambling to reinflate the fascist boogeyman in hopes of pitting the far-right against the center-left. And, in the process, he's turning everyone against him.

I mean, he's been implementing hard right policies all along, so...

Macron et co hate the far-right more than the left, but only barely. Once the far-right was no longer in danger of being in control, Macron felt safe to fuck over the left by going with a fellow neoliberal shill.

Pretty sure Macron wanted the far right to win to hand over the country to them, even after they fucked up everything as they always do, he could come back saying that he's going to fix the country. When the left won, he just gave the power to the right anyway.

They actually hate the left more than the far right.
During this springs legislative campaign, they spent more time criticizing the left for being dangerous, proto-fascist and antisemitic than they spent criticizing the far-right for the same things.
Meanwhile a few far-right candidates were seen wearing nazi symbols or heard saying fascist stuff.

When choosing a prime minister, Macron chose one that the far right would approve (our National Assembly can refuse a prime minister and it's government) instead of one the left would approve.

Macron and his cronies are just simps for our millionaire and billionaire overlords, and they know the far right in France is more than ok with economical neoliberalism.

Governments the world over. They know who pays them more.

I really appreciate hearing from someone who is actually in France.

Also, have the moderates in France completely failed to understand history? Moderates cozying up to the far right is how we got the Nazis running Germany.

Same in France during WWII, centrist and a good part of the socialists gave full power to far-right military dictatorship

So yeah, some people in France would need a quick recap of the past century history

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

That only works so many times before you get buttfucked by the far right

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

Worked since like 1995 so far

[–] [email protected] 17 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Classic liberal move, history somewhat repeats itself. They'd rather have fascists than leftists in power.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 months ago

It’ because fascists don’t endanger neolib capitalism, but leftists do

[–] [email protected] 34 points 2 months ago

Seriously fuck this guy. He barely holds on against fierce competition from the far right, and his reaction is to install a not-as-far right PM?

[–] [email protected] 19 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Fuck Macron. It's a shame this won't remove him.
