I know it might not be 100% sound epistemology, but I think "Warren's Razor" applies here.
If you're on the receiving end of Elizabeth Warren's ire, I can safely presume you are the bad guy until proven otherwise.
Big brain tech dude got yet another clueless take over at HackerNews etc? Here's the place to vent. Orange site, VC foolishness, all welcome.
This is not debate club. Unless it’s amusing debate.

Honestly pointing me at The Two-Income Trap was the single most valuable thing I ever got from reading Scoot Sooskoond. I feel like I was able to get on board the "oh she actually does know things" train a bit sooner than everyone else.
This is going to drag out for years, as such things do... and I would not at all be surprised if, a couple years in, Nvidia turns around and starts a PR blitz along the lines of, "tee-hee, that genAI bubble wasn't nearly as big as we thought it would be! Look what happened to our revenue and stock price! Monopolists, lil ol' us?!"
In other words, good on the prosecutors, but I feel like they're only doing this now because of the mainstream hype that AI is inevitable and will conquer all industries.
If this gets CUDA open-sourced, I will be one very happy man.
this is Nvidia, they'll come up with a torturous source-available license made of poison pills
Yeah but, is anyone else making AI chips? Or a good as theirs?
if only the article addressed this precise point and its relevance
But it actually doesn't.
To be fair, it was the moderator that deleted their message, not the poster. Mods are always stifling discussion around here. Feels like Reddit.
it’s really weird how nobody wants your awful fucking posts in any community. must be the mods!
anyway, time to stifle discussion around here
You're absolutely right, unless you actually read it.
The DOJ suspects Nvidia has been:
- Pressuring customers to buy only Nvidia chips if they want continued supply;
- Buying up competitors, such as Israeli startup Run:ai, to suppress their technologies;
- Locking customers in with its software, such as the CUDA libraries.
And also closing with:
Nvidia insists that it “wins on merit, as reflected in our benchmark results and value to customers.” And Nvidia does have the best stuff — but that’s not what the DOJ, Warren, or France are concerned about, is it?
To tie the bow nicely.
