But it'll probably be better known as the Mako Mk.2 by anyone who played Mass Effect 1, because holy shit its the Mako.

Genuinely excited for this. I enjoy the scanning and landmark points but getting to them was a chore at anything over 500 meters. With this I'll be able to survey planets faster and hopefully escort some of these random injured NPCs back their base/ship more quickly. Maybe even take Andreja out on the Paradiso volleyball court like they did in the trailer at 0:54. Nice work devs and editing team!

Wake me up when a game about exploration actually has exploration in it. Loading screens, fast travel, shallow space content, minimally consequential space ship building...

Sure, in this game you "go places", but you go places to be there, ignoring all the excitement of what has to happen to get there and what happens along the way. That's not really exploration. That's just a level select screen.

Yep.

They genuinely took everything that made people love their previous games, and removed it.

They replaced hand crafted with random generation.

They replaced rewarding exploration with vast empty landscapes peppered with repetative, boring duplicated PoIs.

and they replaced interesting dungeons with literally a handful of pregenerated ones that get plopped and replopped over and over again.

and it all builds up to..what? finding artifacts that give you totally-not-space-magic, with the same boring FMV every time, almost all the spells of which are generally useless... and an ending thats just a NG+ with very mild changes for the first few times you do it.

and do it you must, because you are expected by them to beat the game at least..what was it? 10? 20? times? to get the best suit and ship.

but you must do it on the same character, because you're not allowed to change your perks, stats, or anything, to make it even remotely more interesting.

You mean the Scarab from Elite Dangerous. I hate the fact that it just pops into existence though. No vehicle bay, let alone the existing bays, since they never planned for this beforehand.

is that supposition or have you gotten the patch and seen that it just poofs?

cause if it just poofs, thats just so. hilariously. jankily. bad.

Like, the kind of thing you'd accept from a mod.

We know that from the leaks already.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago

and here I thought Bethesda would at least add a new ship component to at least give the illusion of transporting it.

Eh... we need a serious overhaul to base building and NG+ (specifically, I think the reliance on resetting the universe to progress is fucking dumb).

These are what I await.

Land vehicles were definitely needed too.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Land vehicles are just a haphazard stopgap fix for their incredibly poor design. Remember, Todd Howard was proud that the planets are impractically empty and big. He is proud of you having to spend 20 minutes to walk, with nothing at all in between, to destinations far away for no other reason than to scan the same anomaly you've seen 360 times before, or to encounger a PoI that you've explored 827 times before.

They forget that people like to walk and explore in Fallout, Oblivion, and Skyrim, only because the worlds are hand crafted, lush, and full of nooks and crannies full of interesting things.

Starfield is bland, empty, with only a handful of prefabbed locations that randomly spawn, that are the same down to the placement of debris every. single. time. you. encounter. them.

I'm sorry but I heard this garbage before in Elite and I don't buy it. I already use mods like Desolation to have LESS human POIs. I'm not even sure why you're here if you hate everything about the game. Just move on. No normal person wastes so much time and energy on something they hate.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Oh, you're so hardcore. We all tremble before you.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You write like a 12 year old.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Says the guy bragging about how totally hardcore he is.

"Oh you think these are a problem? well I've modded it to make it even WORSE!"

Like, good for you bro. No ones hating on you for liking the game.

but you getting this butthurt over valid criticism is ridiculous, and its the thing a 12 year old would totally do. So try to work on that projection, dude.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

If that's your takeaway from my comment then I guess at least your username checks out. Maybe stop projecting though, because the only one being butthurt here is clearly you, throwing a hissy fit like a little baby. lol

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Aww, how cute. Hes trying to throw a "No, U!"

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

My guy, that's literally what you did. Stop being weird.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

You're just adorable.

Does mom know you're on the computer?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago

Alright. Since you're just here to troll, I'm just gonna report you now. Weirdo.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

also getting the 1st dlc september 30th

i hope it doesnt conflict with any of my mods

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

Its betheda. even patches break mods. a whole DLC will absolutely break all kinds.

Is the DLC free or are they charging? I havent followed Starfield since seeing this video today, and last i checked there were rumors that the first DLC pack was gonna be free to everyone because of how shite the game is.

edit

Nevermind, finally found an answer. Its free to premium edition owners.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago

crap well maybe i will just go back a save where i didnt have mods or something lol

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago

I haven't heard any of those rumours. The DLC is "free" for people who bought (at least) the digital deluxe edition, but that's it. If they do that, cool, but don't expect it.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Is this just a reskinned skyrim horse?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 month ago

Its either that or an invisible guy wearing a car hat.
