Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars – Reforged is set to launch on September 19, 2024, for PlayStation 5

The game brings a remastered version of the classic 1996 point-and-click adventure game, Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars, developed by Revolution Software.

Key Features of the Reforged Version

  • Enhanced Visuals: The game features 4K remastered graphics to offer high-definition visuals and a new life to original game's detailed environments and characters.
  • Improved Audio: Enhanced audio experience, including a soundtrack by the original composer, Barrington Pheloung, provides an immersive atmosphere.
  • Fully Voice Acted: Enhanced dialogue experience through full voice acting for characters in the game.

Release Information

My first thought was "didn't they just do that?" But I've checked and the Directors Cut was released on Wii and DS in 2009. Its been a minute.

Do you have fond memories of the original game?

I first played it on the PSX, missing the PC version, it left a great impression on me and now long in to my adult years I play it more than any other game. Like once a year. It’s such a great story and the team behind it told it wonderfully.

The soundtrack is definitely one of my favourite parts of the game so to see them use original masters to bring improved music is a huge highlight. The death of Barrington Pheloung has been, in my opinion, one of the most tragic losses to video game music.
