Congrats! That has to feel amazing.
If it's alright for me to ask, could you say more about the chromosome test? I'm wondering why they wanted to do that.

Oh I missed that, thanks. Wow, what a dumb requirement! Glad you are on the other side of that.
Yep, really pointless and am really glad as well
11 months from first talks about surgery at the hospital to actual surgery, all the health insurance fighting in between.. was well-prepared already and had documents from psychiatrist, therapist and gyn (overseeing my HRT) already ready at that first appointment ^^
Congratz!
What is the chromosome test for?
Health insurance wanted to be extra sure I'm not inter, in which case they might not have had to pay
Even the genetics doc (a quite old guy) was somewhat pissed about that requirement "that wouldn't change anything.." ^^`
That's stupid af
If you're into movies check out Gattaca
Yay! That’s huge, I am happy for you!!

Congratulations from a random American seeing this on Front of Lemmy!
Thanks - huh, how did this make it to the front of Lemmy? o.o
I got my date because I was on a short notice list. I was given 15 days to prepare. What a nightmare that was!
Just know that no matter how hard it gets during recovery, a year later you’re going to be feeling wonderful and normal.
This will not solve everything, but damn life is easier without bottom dysphoria.
Oof just fifteen days, that's rough ^^`
Congratulations, that's super exciting! Try not to be too scared, it's gonna go great. 💜
Just make sure to follow all the recovery directions they give you.
Thanks :)
And yea, will definitely do and will be cared for by my gf who's gone through that already as well (though in Helsinki and not in Munich)
Congrats! 🥳🎉
